Eldritch
The voice was no longer the sonorous trumpet of divine proclamation but a cacophony of scraping, guttural noises mixed with a sound like ancient, celestial music played backwards. It spoke of things that should not be, of stars that were not stars, and of dimensions that existed in spaces our pitiful physics had never even conceived of. To hear it was to feel one's very soul unravel, a sense of absolute displacement and cosmic insignificance. We were not important, not even a footnote in the maddening symphony of its existence.
